An early childhood development Ed-Tech start-up, At VersaMe we built a combination of tools including a machine learning platform, a wearable, and a multi-OS mobile app to provide metrics on verbal engagement, motion, noise, and sunlight exposure. In conjunction with the Starling mobile app, the parent/guardian receives daily, personalized actionable prompts to boost purposeful engagements with their child.

QA Manager (Ruby on Rails, Redis, Mongo, Java, Javascript, Android, iOS)

• As the first in this role at VersaMe, I worked on building a “quality first” mindset thru all aspects of the product lifecycle and with all members of the team, technical and non-technical by enforcing best in class software engineering practices, to include requirements review, user story clarification and test case definition

Verizon Wireless

Web App - Configuration Management System for IPTV SaaS and Video OTT solutions

Software Development/SQA (Angular, React, Javascript, Mongo, Redux, Node.js)

• Created and tested new components and features to transition an internal Webapp Configuration Management Tool from an Angular framework to a REACT framework
• Owned all root cause analysis for legacy Angular code, fixing issues as prioritized by Product manager
• Created and ran mongo scripts as needed to sync dev DB with staging DB to test patches and security certificate changes
• Integrated with a multitude of REST APIs (micro-services) to populate Front End UI

Technical Project Management

• Managed the transition of the Configuration Management Tool from Angular frame-work to REACT framework
• Increased Team Velocity by 25% by thoroughly understanding the code as well as product requirements

One of the pioneers in the Digital Video Storage and Playback vertical. Addressing the needs of broadcasters around the world in the transition from Analog to Digital storage and playback solutions. Contributed in numerous ways as the company grew.

Software QA Manager

• Built a foundation to reduce the lag time between RFQA and GA by improving resource allocation, building up test automation framework, instituting a better requirements review process, prioritizing test efforts and resolution of defects based on trade-off between severity of defect, impact to committed release and delivery dates, and customer needs and expectations
• Improved product quality by focusing testing more on common use cases and less on theoretical possibilities
• Headed the effort to convert the development and QA teams from Waterfall to an Agile development and release process
• Facilitated moving the team to a new bug tracking system and integrating it with our development scheduling tool (Bugzilla, Jira, Rally)
• Improved quality of release notes, user guides, and new product training slides by making the information more relevant and easier to read and understand
